From the Inside Looking In

Creacher’s eyes opened briskly and then zeroed in on the dust particles reflecting the sun rays beaming through his permanently open bedroom window. It’s not that the windows didn’t close but a window pane was missing from one of the 5 that worked together, cranking a turn handle would shift the angle of the windows to open and vise versa to close. The missing link meant there was always about a 6 inch high definition quick scan portal that Creacher loved to look through in the afternoon but made him feel less secure and confident at night. The open window pretty much deterred him from sleeping in his own cave every night, if sleeping alone, in the dark, and in the farthest cave away from the others wasn’t a manly enough excuse.

Without needing an alarm clock to confirm an important fact, sunlight shining into his cave on a weekday meant one thing, Creacher was about to miss the school bus!
