Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident.

Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident.

Psalm 27:3

King David was a man of valor and war. Most of us alive today will never be able to appreciate the sensation of the stress level and catecholamine release caused by the reality of being completely surrounded by an enemy army that wanted to do more than write a harsh or nasty comment on your social media page!

The greatest realization we can glean from this Scripture is that most of us do not have a physical army surrounding us at this moment. We have a spiritual host rallied against us. See Ephesians 6:12.  We are promised that our resources to overcome are greater than the oppostion because greater is He that is living in us than he that is in the world! See 1 John 4:4.

King David was able to rest in the God that he trusted and that gave him confidence. When we trust, then we can rest. Today, let us have great confidence in our Great God and Savior Jesus Christ in whatever we are facing!
